CWT/CWX ER66.8A Compression Router Bit

The CWT/CWX ER66.8A compression router bit is engineered for high-performance CNC routing of laminated panels, composite materials, plastics, and wood substrates commonly used in signage production, display fabrication, cabinet manufacturing, and industrial machining. Manufactured from super-grade solid carbide and enhanced with a premium rainbow coating for lubricity and tool life enhancement, this tool provides excellent wear resistance, reduced cutting friction, and extended tool life during high-speed routing operations.

The compression cutting geometry combines both upcut and downcut flutes, compressing the material toward the center of the cut during machining. This design prevents tearing on the bottom surface and chipping on the top surface, producing clean, chip-free edges on both sides of laminated or finished materials.

The 6 mm cutting diameter and 22 mm cutting edge length (CEL) provide excellent rigidity and cutting stability for profiling, slotting, and through-cut operations in thicker materials and laminated boards used in signage and fabrication workflows.

For the compression geometry to function properly, a minimum material thickness of 3 mm is required, ensuring that both the upcut and downcut flute sections engage the material simultaneously.

Note: 6 mm shank router bits are designed for CUTWORX Apex Plus and Apex M Series flatbed cutters equipped with the 1.8 kW liquid cooled router spindle.
