The Eclipse 1523 Digital Die Cutter is a compact, die-free, sheet-fed flatbed finishing system built for print shops, packaging departments, sign makers, and short-run production environments. It gives shops the ability to cut, kiss cut, crease, plot, and finish printed work without traditional cutting dies, making it ideal for prototypes, samples, custom-shaped print products, and fast-turn digital production.
With a 15" × 23" cutting area, automated sheet feeding, CCD camera registration, a precision aluminum table, and included tools for drag knife, kiss cut, creasing, and oscillating knife work, the Eclipse 1523 brings affordable digital die cutting into a smaller, efficient production footprint. The Eclipse S Series brochure lists the 1523 cutting area as 15" × 23", machine size as 92" × 36" × 46", 1.5kw vacuum, 1200mm/s max cutting speed, ±0.1mm cutting precision, and 6mm max cutting thickness.
It is built for applications such as adhesive sheets, decals, labels, business cards, custom cards, invitations, packaging samples, tags, shelf talkers, door hangers, pocket folders, DTF film, and other specialty print products.
No Cutting Dies Required
The Eclipse 1523 eliminates the need for traditional cutting dies on short-run and custom-shaped jobs. Operators can move directly from digital artwork to finished pieces using the included tool system.
The machine includes a complete set of tools for common print finishing applications:
Drag Knife
Kiss-Cut Tool
Creasing Wheel
Electric Oscillating Tool
Plotting Pen
This tool flexibility allows shops to handle pressure-sensitive materials, reflective films, vinyl, banner material, PVC, styrene, corrugated boards, foam, PET, magnetic material, DTF film, and other compatible substrates. The S Series workflow page also lists materials including pressure-sensitive films, reflective films, vinyl, banner, PVC, styrene, corrugated boards, foam, PET, magnetic, and DTF film.
Automatic Sheet Feeding and Conveyor Production
The Eclipse 1523 is designed for continuous sheet-fed production. Its automated feeding and conveyor system brings feeding, cutting, and collection into one connected workflow, helping reduce manual handling and improve throughput.
The automatic height-adjusting table supports material stacks up to 4.5" tall, listed as approximately 400 sheets of 250gsm / 92 lb cover stock. This makes the 1523 especially useful for digital print environments running repeated short-run jobs, sample batches, labels, cards, tags, and multi-up sheet layouts.
A roll feed attachment is also available for roll-to-sheet production needs.
CCD Registration and Precise Positioning
The Eclipse 1523 uses a high-definition CCD camera system to detect registration marks and align cut paths to printed graphics. This helps compensate for common print distortion and supports accurate contour cutting on digitally printed sheets.
The system is built for repeatable accuracy, with the brochure listing cutting precision at ±0.1 mm / .004 in.
Vacuum Hold-Down and Material Control
The Eclipse 1523 uses a 1.5kw vacuum system to hold material securely during cutting. The precision aluminum table and vacuum hold-down system help stabilize sheets and support clean, consistent finishing across different print, packaging, label, and sign applications.
The brochure also identifies the Eclipse S Series as using a precision aluminum table and one vacuum zone.
Software and File Integration
The Eclipse S Series is supported by CutterServer software, which helps manage the cutting process and keeps production smooth and consistent.
Supported file formats listed in the brochure include:
PDF
AI
DXF
PLT
HP-GL
BRG
XML
CUT
ISO
PS
EPS
TSK
OXF
The Eclipse 1523 can fit into workflows using common design, packaging, CAD, and print production software, including Adobe Illustrator, Corel, Kasemake, ArtiosCAD, Box Magician, and similar file-driven production environments.
Optional QR code management can support faster job switching and more efficient variable-job production. The brochure notes that the QR code management system requires an optional software module.
Optional Roll-Feed Attachment
The Eclipse 1523 can be equipped with a roll-feed attachment for roll-fed production. This expands the system beyond standard sheet-fed finishing and makes it useful for labels, decals, DTF film, adhesive graphics, and other roll-based materials.
This gives shops a flexible system that can support both sheet-fed and roll-fed digital finishing workflows.
