Ops Console / Module 02 / Gemba
Go see the work where it happens.
You cannot improve a process from a desk. A Gemba walk takes you to the floor on a regular cadence to observe against a checklist and ask questions, then turn what you see into owned actions. It is the habit that keeps the other tools honest.
A structured walk of the floor. Gemba means the real place; you go see the work where it happens instead of guessing from a desk.
On a regular cadence, weekly or daily. The point is to observe and ask, not to inspect or blame.
Walk the area against the checklist, mark each point, and turn anything you flag into an owned action with a date.
The walk flags two issues: guards fine and area clean, but WIP is piling at the cutter and the color target is not posted at the press. Both become actions: the lead op posts the target by Friday, and the supervisor looks at cutter scheduling. Next week the walk checks whether they held.
